This week we focused on being respectful to equipment and not giving up when facing a challenge.

Finding the matching shapes

Making shapes with the sticks by coping the cards.

        Friday Leaf Fun

On Friday afternoon we went outside to have some leaf fun.

Challenge

This week we had the challenge of doing our handwriting in our 'other hand'. 

It was so much fun - but also frustrating!

Week 8
Exploring time 
This week we had themes of 'Challenge' and 'Keep Trying'.

It was challenging to get the bean bags into the container.

What can help us overcome the Challenge? We looked at the container. We
aimed with our arms.
We increased the challenge by stepping further away from the container.

The Lego activity had some Challenge Cards.

The jigsaws were a challenge.
We could see some shapes on this puzzle to help us.

Our letters of focus this week were 'i' and 'j'.
This activity involved making an ice cream out of
collage materials.

We even put some sprinkles on to look like chocolate chips.

Making jelly was another fun activity. We read the instructions and
Mrs Hinman poured the boiling water over the crystals (it looked just like a powder).
It turned pink when it had dissolved, was a liquid.

The jelly had to set in the fridge. We got to eat it in the afternoon.

Yum! It was sweet, smooth and tasty.

Mrs Hinman's challenge was finding gelatine free jelly!

As part of our challenge theme we did handwriting a bit differently today.

We had a buddy who described a letter of the alphabet using 'Casey Caterpillar' letter
descriptions e.g. h = tall stick (l), tunnel (n). Our buddy had to draw it on the whiteboard.

This was fun - but a challenge too!
We had to describe the letters and listen carefully.
